Tara Haywood- Owner/Barn Manager
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Tara began riding at 11 years old at Triton Stables in Raleigh, NC. Her passion for the sport continued to grow while training and working under Matthias Hollberg at Apex Equestrian Center, where she developed a strong foundation in the hunter/jumper disciplines. In recent years, Tara has expanded her focus to include ranch riding and the development of versatile, well-rounded horses.
With more than 15 years of experience working for boarding facilities and trainers, Tara has developed a strong understanding of the time, attention, and detailed care required to provide a high standard of care for every horse. Her experience behind the scenes of a boarding operation has shaped the way she approaches Brinnwood Farm today.
Tara believes that exceptional boarding starts with knowing each horse as an individual and understanding that no two horses have exactly the same needs. Above all, Tara’s top priority is the health, happiness, and well-being of every horse in her care.
Shayne Forester- Trainer/Instructor
Originally from Raleigh, NC, Shayne began riding at just eight years old with his grandfather, sparking a lifelong love for horses and the sport. Since then, he has traveled throughout the country and had the opportunity to work with and learn from multiple industry leading trainers, developing a broad understanding of horses, training, and the care that goes into producing a happy, successful horse.
Shayne works with horses of all ages and training levels, from starting young horses to developing experienced show horses. While his primary focus today is Ranch Riding and the Western All-Around disciplines, his background also includes experience with Hunters and Jumpers, and he has produced many successful hunter horses throughout his career.
At the heart of Shayne’s program is the partnership between horse and rider. His goal is to meet each horse and rider where they are, build confidence and understanding, and help them become the best team they can be—whether their goal is the show ring or simply becoming a better partnership at home.
